What is a Segway?
The Segway is an ecological form of motorised transport, which is easy to control and safe.
It consists of two wheels, a platform on which the user stands, and a handlebar. It all works thanks to a gyroscopic stabilisation system.
Do you enjoy a good adrenalin rush? Discover the highest ice-racing track in Europe. The Val Thorens Drivers’ School wants to initiate you to a number of new sensations.
Steering, counter-steering, braking….all the techniques are tried under the watchful eye of a trained professional .
The Ice Driving Academy welcomes you on the « Alain Prost’s » ice-racing track of VT:

The Ice driving Academy team:
- The pist initiation and baptism are done under the control of several skilled pilots, all holders of the BPJEPS
The Ice Driving Academy driving school gives you the opportunity to try ice karting.
A 300-m long by 5-m wide ice run is specially set up for karting at the Alain Prost driving circuit centre.
It’s fun to do with friends or family, and great for trying out the sensations of sliding around on the ice for the first time.
Get there using the free shuttles from the P3 car park.
Ice karting sessions can be booked throughout the week.
Once you’ve have crossed the slopes, take to the heights and discover the mountains from another angle… from the air !
Beneath your, the Belleville Valley, facing the Mont Blanc is revealed. You will be led by state-qualified instructors.

Experience Val Thorens and the Belleville Valley from a birds-eye view, flying on a tandem paramotor!
A paramotor is a motorized paraglider that enables a pilot and passenger to climb in altitude and stay airborn for as long as they want. Enjoy an unforgettable aerial view as you soar above the valley at a comfortable speed of 35km/hr.
Your pilot, Timothy Green, will tailor the flight to your sense of adventure ,whether it be a smooth panoramic flight over the valley and resort or an exhilerating acrobatic flight.
Weather permitting, you can even fly over some of the summits and glaciers in the area to witness an amazing panoramic view of the Massifs de la Maurienne, the Tarentaise, the Vanoise all the way to the Mont Blanc and the Ecrins mountain ranges.

Tim Green : Paramontor pilot
Tim Green 28, is a certified tandem paramotor piliot with over 10 years of experience as a professional pilot.
At age 16 he received a Private Pilots License and starting paragliding quickly progressing to acrobatics. Moving to Chamonix he started competing placing 11th in the World Aerobatic Championships in 2006 and 1st in the Swiss Championships 2009 as well as 1st place at the Chamonix Vol et Ski Competition in 2010.
Tim then started Cloudbase Productions and focuses on aerial cinematography captured from a tandem paramotor.
Ziplining at high altitude
A glide over 1300 m… 1 minute 45 seconds of pure pleasure in breathtaking surroundings, from the 3 Valleys peak at 3230 m, at the top of the Bouchet chairlift in the Orelle resort, over to the Val Thorens crest, at 3000 m, at the top of the Thorens Funitel.
From Orelle to Val-Thorens, suspended from a steel cable, comfortably installed in a cocoon of fabric which will take you over the 100 km/h barrier, you can experience what it feels like to be a great bird of prey, soaring over infinite spaces.
Access is reserved to skiers by the Bouchet chairlift, in the Orelle resort.
The glide costs 50 €, and tickets are purchased on-site.

Luge - The longest toboggan run in europe
Get ready for an incredible experience on a marked-out run in the heart of a magnificent natural valley. All the thrills of a toboggan run for everyone from 5 years old.
After an 8 minutes ascent using the Péclet Funitel, you arrive at the departure set at the foot of the magnificent Péclet glacier, at an altitude of 3,000 m.
Then it’s off for 45 minutes of excitement and sliding entertainment!
The itinerary is great fun, linking raised bends and varied slopes giving tobogganists intense pleasure. Nothing to fear, just let yourself go and enjoy, right at the heart of an exceptional site.
Mountain Bike on Snow
A new snow sport
At an altitude of 3000 m, at the foot of the Péclet glacier, in the heart of a sumptuous high mountain decor, hurtle down the 700 m of height difference on the Tête Ronde blue slope. Accessible to sporty ones and experienced MTB riders every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening.
Departure at 5pm, after the slopes have closed, accompanied by Gérald Bigot, a state qualified instructor, for a sporty descent full of excitement. Experience riding on the snow with a MTB, your position on the bike, braking, turning and perhaps even falling during more than 45 minute (6 km) at night fall.
A well deserved reward at the bottom: mulled wine for everyone!
