100% ski-in ski-out & a pedestrian only village.

In a country where children learn to ski from an early age, it comes as no surprise that resort facilities and services are especially geared towards being family friendly.

Avoriaz is located in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area at 1800m and welcomes families to a unique pedestrian village. Being a purpose-built resort in the 1960’s, it was designed around convenience and access. Accommodation was built so services were accessible without having to leave the building. The streets are all ski runs and accommodation has access to the slopes. Children can sled in the heart of the village and the local taxis are horse drawn sleighs.

Aside from the massive 600kms of snow riding runs where you can ski across the border to Switzerland, the list activities available in Avoriaz is never ending.

LiL’STASH is an enchanted world dedicated to children from 4 to 14 years old built by Burton Snowboard and the resort. This creative and ecological snow park is a playground of snow and wood modules made by a local sculptor with modules adapted for the ages of the children. For the bigger kids and adults, the STASH is the larger version and is set in the middle of the forest.

Aquariaz is an aquatic tropical themed water park. Fun for both young and old, it has a water playhouse, slidewinder aquatic half pipe, climbing walls and an open-air spa heated to 34C.

Maybe take in an ice hockey game or take the kids skating, dog sledding, archery tag, eFat biking, kids (5-17yrs) can even learn to drive an electric snowmobile in a closed area, bowling, chocolate experiences, cross country skiing and more! For the more unusual visit the Igloo Village and see the fairy universe of ice sculptures or stay and enjoy apres ski time in the Ice Bar!

The resort boasts a series of snow sports events and music festivals. Having established itself as a snow dance destination, the apres ski life is lively throughout the season.

With 600kms of pistes covering 12 ski resorts and 2 countries, the variety of pistes suits all standards whether you want to challenge yourself or are still a new snow rider. You can even ski across to Switzerland for lunch!
