Open from the 18th of December 2015 to the 16th of April 2016
You will find Valmorel at the beginning of the famous Tarentaise Vallee.
There’s 5 villages to explore including Valmorel, Doucy, Nâves, Celliers and LaLéchère-Les-bains.
In Valmorel, the biggest of the 5 villages, everything is done to make your stay easy and stress free, leaving you more time to enjoy the slopes and the village life.
In Valmorel, there is no need to use your car – you can get around very easily on foot, with the ski shuttle or on the Télébourg (a mini-cable car linking the various hamlets). Direct piste access from most of the accommodation enables genuine ski-in/ski-out enjoyment of an extremely accessible ski area.
Unique Pedestrian Main Street
It makes Valmorel very special and so lovely !
A unique pedestrian street in which children are in sledges and not in buggys, with restaurants, pubs and shops.
A village perfectly integrated into the countryside
The resort’s architecture is in perfect harmony with the landscape: buildings are no higher than 4 storeys and are all faced with wood and stone, some with trompe l’oeil designs, and stone roofs; the proportion of buildings to the ski area is less than 3%.
Lots of snow
Thanks to the geographical location of Valmorel’s ski area, the Grand Domaine – close to the Col de la Madeleine and to the barrier formed by the Lauzière mountain range – Valmorel enjoys exceptional snow cover all winter – around 15% better than resorts of a similar altitude.
Between Tarentaise and Maurienne, the Grand Domaine links Doucy, Valmorel, Celliers, St-François-Lonchamp to Valmorel, from 1200 m to 2550 m high. Enjoy our skiing rea, whatever your level !
165km – 50 ski lifts
Le Grand Domaine is accessible to all: with a level “blue trail” you will easily able to cross to ski the famous Col de la Madeleine, slip freely between St Francois Longchamp, Valmorel and Doucy-Combelouvière.
